Steven Frederick LiebesYoga Teacher and Natural Health Consultant
Steven's path of health through Yoga and Nutrition began 15 years ago, when he took his first yoga class, which, soon after, led to becoming a Yoga Teacher and Health Food Consultant.
His desire for understanding health through: nutritional diet, yoga, and other forms of body movement, has led him to the study and work experience of many types of disciplines, including Yoga and Ayurvedic medicine.
His experience as a Yoga Instructor spans more than 9 years. He has been trained in several forms of Yoga, including Ashtanga, Structural Integrity and Sivananda. He has studied extensively with: Pattabhi Jois, Richard Freeman, Lino Miele, David Swenson, Eddie Stern and Chuck Miller. His teaching breadth includes working with complete beginners to advanced students and teacher training courses. Steven has studied extensively in India and taught throughout the U.S., Asia and Europe. By deepening his understanding of the body, he has learned the importance of diet and the relation between natural plant nutrition and its holistic healing effect on the body and mind.
He has participated in, and worked at, various retreat centers throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia, including Green Gulch Zen Meditation Center and Organic Farm in Northern California, and has trained and worked as a raw food chef in California and Thailand. Also, he has spent much time learning the health properties of plants in all four different climate zones, from the jungles of South East Asia to the forests of Scandinavia and Mountains of Central Europe.
Steven has worked in Thailand at the Spa Samui and Spa Koh Chang Resorts as a Yoga Instructor and Nutritionist. It is here he became well known for his Ashtanga Mysore classes and healing fruit and herbal vegetable drinks. Also while in Thailand, he worked with the Chefs at two exclusive resorts where he developed health menus and juice fasting programs, incorporating healing plants and fruits into the traditional menu and designed and planted gardens of healing herbs, fruits and vegetables to support the Health Menus.
Prior to his personal and professional path of health, Steven worked in Washington, DC, on Trade and Foreign Economic Policy Issues with a focus on Africa and the Middle East.
